This depends upon the product and the storage conditions. We recommend using the product before its "Best By Date," printed on the neck of the container for the best product. Checking the “Best By Date” helps to ensure that older jars are used first. If the product is not stored properly, the shelf life will be shortened. We recommend that you store containers in a non-refrigerated, cool, dry place. Do not use the sauce if the safety button on the cap appears to be raised before opening, indicating that the jar’s vacuum seal has been broken.
The “Best By Date” is the expected shelf life of the sauce. For the best flavor, texture, and overall quality, we recommend using the sauce before this date.
The “Best By Date” is printed on the neck of the sauce container in white or black ink.
Using the product by its “Best By Date” helps to ensure the best quality product and we do not recommend using this product after this date. Do not use the sauce if the safety button on the cap appears to be raised before opening, indicating that the jar’s vacuum seal has been broken.
This depends upon several factors, including the time the product sits out of refrigeration during food preparation and the temperature of your refrigerator.
To ensure best quality, refrigerate the product immediately after opening and use within 5 days.
Yes, both tomato sauce in plastic jars and alfredo sauce in glass jars are microwavable with the metal cap removed. However, we do not recommend using a microwave as they heat unevenly. As a result, we recommend that you pour the sauce into a pan or pot and heat the sauce on the stove. Please note that care should be taken when heating any product in the microwave based on the variation of temperature.
Freezing the Francesco Rinaldi product prior to opening is not recommended; as the containers should be store in a non-refrigerated, cool, dry place and using the product before its "Best By Date," printed on the neck of the container for the best product.
Yes, Francesco Rinaldi tomato and alfredo sauces can be frozen after opening, however, it does compromise the sauce quality a bit. Remove the product from the container and place in a freezer safe container. When ready, defrost the product in the refrigerator, and not at room temperature. Reheat the product over low heat, stirring frequently. When first placed into the saucepan, the product may appear separated. By stirring over low heat, this appearance will change and the sauce will once again become more consistent with its original texture.
Yes. Our plastic and glass product containers and metal caps can be recycled.
There are numerous benefits to the consumer and to the retailer with this change. Among the benefits are that the jar is lightweight, benefitting transportation costs and fuel usage. Lighter weight can also be an ergonomic benefit to employees stocking store shelves. The jar is shatterproof, eliminating the safety risk of glass breakage in stores or in homes. The jar has numerous benefits when it comes to the environment, such as lower green house gas (GHG) emissions versus its glass counterpart. The plastic jar is also more manufacturing friendly for employees as it lowers noise level in the manufacturing operation.
Yes, it is the same amount of sauce. The net weight of the jar contents is the same as its glass counterpart.
The wall thickness of the plastic jar is less than its glass counterpart. Therefore, the jar is actually smaller than the glass jar containing the same net weight of sauce.
The plastic jar is made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate). PET is a commonly used, widely accepted polymer in food and beverage packaging.
No. Our plastic packaging is non-BPA.
No. There are no phthalates in the plastic jar.
No. The plastic jar is made from material that is neutral when it comes to flavors and odors. In addition, the jar has a barrier coating applied on the inside surface to maintain freshness and shelf-life of the sauce.
The ridges in the jar provide rigidity while reducing PET (polyethylene terephthalate) wall thickness, which provides the lightest weight, most sustainable container possible.
